John Glenn Crum, 69, of Mansfield passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, September 12, 2015.

John was born December 27, 1945 in Shelby, Ohio to the late John Skiles Crum and Naomi Lybarger Crum.

John was a 1963 Shelby High School graduate and a 1967 graduate of Heidelberg College. He earned his M.A. in Humanities from California State University at Dominguez Hills in 1986. John proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969.

John led a remarkable and meaningful life even though he was a quadriplegic for 42 years. He impacted thousands of lives during his 20 plus years with the Centerburg Local School District. Through John’s blog @taipeisignalarmy.blogspot.com he enjoyed the new friends and the opportunity to express his thoughts of his military experience.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Riley Crum of Mansfield; son John Casey Crum of Powell; and brother David (Diane) Crum of Wooster.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Tim Crum.
