Denny Smith, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Valparaiso, IN; daughter, Debby Hess and husband Russ of Jacksboro, TX; grandsons, Rev. Denny Smith, III and wife Heather of Wylie, TX; Tommy Wallace and wife Danielle of Allen, TX and Timmy Wallace and wife Rosie of Austin, TX; granddaughter, Melody Smith Bell and husband Chris of Ashburn, VA; brother, Larry Smith and wife Kay of Casey, IL; sister, Kay Lingerfelt and husband Bob of Kissimmee, FL; eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his foster parents, brothers, Duane J. Smith and Loren P. Smith and sister, Lois H. Smitley.
Denver was a retired minister. He served in ministries in Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky and Illinois. He graduated in 1956 from Tennessee Temple College with Bachelor of Arts in Bible. He then completed his seminary degree in Religious Education from Tennessee Temple College in 1959.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Denny Smith, Jr. and Rev. Denny Smith, III officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the service time of 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday.
