Deborah Anne Armstrong, a resident of Deatsville, Alabama (Slapout), died Sunday morning, December 3, 2017, at the home of a sister in Dothan.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 6, 2017, in the First Baptist Church of Columbia with Pastor Shane Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia City Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary.

Deborah Armstrong was born and reared in Columbia, Alabama, daughter of the late Rhudolph V. Armstrong and Eloise Farmer Armstrong. She was a 1969 graduate of the Houston County High School in Columbia and received a B. S. Degree in Elementary Education from Troy University. Deborah also received a Master’s Degree in Education from Troy University Montgomery. She was retired as an Elementary School Teacher from Holtville Elementary School in Holtville, Alabama. Deborah was an active member of the Shoal Creek Baptist Church where she served as the church pianist for many years.

Surviving relatives include two sisters, Michele Armstrong Andrews, Dothan; and Andrea Armstrong Tillotson (Don), Tampa, FL; three brothers, Michael Armstrong (Melodia), Pickens, SC; Howard Armstrong (Starr), St. Petersburg, FL; and Will Armstrong, St. Peters, MO; several nieces and nephews.
