Teresa was born in Lindsay, Canada on August 26, 1955 to Harry and Leah Newhouse. When she was five, the family immigrated to the United States and settled in Sandy. Growing up, it was clear her love of the outdoors started at a young age and she spent hours outside with her friends and her horse.
She was a happy and positive light to all who knew her and made friends easily. Teresa had two amazing sons, whom she loved with all of her heart. She married her sweet and caring husband Mark Edwards in 2003. He has been an incredible caretaker and has shown so much patience and love. She has left a giant hole in all of our hearts.
Teresa was blessed with a green thumb and worked hard beautifying her indoors and outdoors, and she could name just about any plant she saw. Her life was spent making everything around her beautiful and happy.
She was beloved by everyone she met. Her sparkly eyes and giant smile, always full of genuine love, were her trademarks. She adored her grandkids and wanted nothing more than to spend time with them.
Teresa always had the most optimistic outlook on life and turned many difficult times into positive, memorable experiences. We will hold her memory close in our hearts, and live our lives trying to match her optimism and love.
She is survived by her mother, Leah Newhouse; husband, Mark Edwards; sister, Marsha Wadsworth (Con); sons, Joe Cary (Channon) and Doug Cary (Heather); step-sons, Cory Edwards and Sean Edwards; twelve beautiful grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many close family members and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Harry Newhouse; and brother, Ron Newhouse.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.
