Funeral services for Lurene Rowe Wood, age 90, of Lindale, Texas are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 7, 2017 in the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home chapel in Lindale with Rev. Bruce Rudd officiating. Interment will follow in the Lindale City Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Directors. Mrs. Wood died Sunday, December 3, 2017 in a Tyler hospice center. She was born in Forrest Academy, Texas in Hopkins County on February 7, 1927 to the late Thomas Franklin and Maude Ethel (Elliott) Rowe and was a lifelong resident of Lindale. Mrs. Wood retired from East Texas Savings and Loan and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Ray Wood in 2008; granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Wood in 1986; 3 sisters, Virginia Warren, Nell Vecchie and Charlie Mae Kimberly; and by 3 brothers, Franklin Rowe, Jim Rowe and Bobby Rowe.
Mrs. Wood is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Mickey & Linda Wood of Mt. Sylvan Community, Texas; daughter & son-in-law, Susan & Randy York of Lindale, Texas; sister, Tina Cowdrey of Lindale, Texas; sister-in-law, Edith Rowe of Lindale, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Russell York and Casey York, both of Lindale, Texas and Tammy Vickery of Mt. Sylvan Community, Texas; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Russell York, Casey York, James Meredith, Johnny Rowe, Cliff Wallace and Jerry Vickery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
