Janis McKinney passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at the age of 61.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at St. Boniface Catholic Church at 1200 Warrior Ln, Waukee with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, West Des Moines.
Janis was born to Walter and Doris (Seymour) Jaworski in Des Moines on March 28, 1956.
Janis married Robert McKinney in 1979. Together they raised three children, Jason, Alex, and Kaitlin.
The most important thing in Janis' life was her family. She took great pride in building a home with her husband, Robert, and she devoted her life to her family. Her kind and generous spirit will be greatly missed.
Janis is survived by her mother Doris; her husband Robert; her children Jason (Kati Jo), Alex (Sarah), and Kaitlin (Brandon Bohlender); her siblings David, Michael, Rick (Kellie), Julie (Kurt), and Jamison (Margaret); many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter and infant sister, Denise.
