Joseph Giles Hoover, US Navy Ret., 77, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017.
He was born Dec. 16, 1939, in Charlotte and reared in Belmont, by his parents, the late Franklin Paul Hoover and Georgia Dellinger Hoover.
He was married to and is survived by his wife, Brenda Kinard Hoover, also formerly of Belmont. He and his wife parented two sons, Jeffrey E (Karen) Hoover of Rock Hill, SC and Brett R. (Lori) Hoover of Muncy, PA. He was loved by many, admired and respected by all.
A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 716 Main Street, Belmont, NC 28012.
