Obit - Jim Brown - James Stephen "Papa" Brown, 53, of East Ridge, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007 in a local hospital. He was a Baptist and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jim always enjoyed helping others and was in law enforcement for 23 years. He was currently employeed as a route salesman with Mayfield Dairy Farms. Survivors include his wife, Gail Brown; daughter, Kerry Cox and her husband, Nathan, of East Ridge; two grandchildren, Corey and Caden Cox, both of East Ridge; twin brother, Tim Brown and wife Angie of East Ridge; brother, Dennis Brown of Fernley, Nev; two sisters, Linda Chiles and husband Lee, of Woodstock, Ill, and Kathy Douglas and husband, Tommy, of Red Bank; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Tuesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Caris Healthcare, 5959 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
