Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late David Clayborne and Hazel Daniel Sanders. He was formerly employed with Bank of America. Don was an avid golfer and a member of Saluda Valley Country Club where he served on the Board of Directors multiple times. He was a proud member of the 1960-61 Palmetto High School boys basketball team that carried a 19- game winning streak.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Shannon Nichols (Jim) of Easley and Shane Alexander (Nathan) of Cornelius, NC; grandchildren, Kayda Page of the home, Mia and Addie Nichols, and Elizabeth Alexander; sisters, Mary Ann Wooten and Wanda Ashley.
He was predeceased by a brother, David Sanders.
