She was born in Wilmington, NC on August 11, 1942 and lived in Wilmington until her death.
She was a wonderful mother of three; Jack Mathis and his wife Lori, Kay Linz and her husband Andy and her beloved daughter, Beth Mathis that has been waiting on her in Heaven.
In addition to her daughter, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack S. Mathis.
Barbara had a passion for life! She was very talented with her hands and worked as a seamstress her whole life. Many will remember her as an animal lover. Her love for animals was well known and she was a member of the Petco family.
She had five granddaughters that she absolutely adored and thought they were all awesome: Morgan Mathis, Jesse Mathis, Jacqueline Linz, Macy Linz and Carly Bell Linz.
She will be missed by many friends. Friends that were more than friends, but sisters.
May she rest in peace with her husband and daughter and forever watch over her creation on Earth.
A private graveside service was held on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
