Our beloved Nana lost a lengthy battle with cancer on 11.30.17 after fighting more than six years longer than doctor's gave her. She was born October 24, 1947 to Clyde and Flora McKinzie. She graduated from Monterey High School in 1966 and Texas Tech University in 1972. She married Steve Gay in Lubbock.

Linda served as a nurse recruiter for Covenant and a private recruiter for many years. She was an adult 4-H leader in Hockley County while all three of her children were involved in 4-H. While her children were young, she taught Sonshine School at Broadway for many years. She and her husband Steve owned and operated A-1 SS Pump Service for over 50 years and were engaged in ranching.

Her generous and kind spirit was shared amongst everyone she met. She spread love and joy to all that met and knew her. Linda always thought of others first and anyone that met her, knew how special she was. She was a true walking angel here on Earth. Work and her love of travel took her all over the world. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as her extended family.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Gay and father Clyde McKinzie. She is survived by her 100 year old mother, Flora McKinzie of Lubbock. Three children, her daughter Chrystal Madewell (fiancee` J B Crockett) of Levelland; daughter Carrie (Chip) Altman; and son Dustin (Stacey) Gay of Lubbock. Five grandchildren, Jake (Jamie) Madewell, Clay Madewell and Cooper Madewell of Levelland, Shelby Meeks and Landrie Price of Lubbock; three great-grandchildren, Jayton, Jarrett and Jacelyn Madewell of Levelland. Brother Carl (Rena) McKinzie of Santa Monica, CA and family. Extended sisters, the "Yayas" Wanda Bonner, Carolyn Cook, Gradene Enos, Dianne Jinks, Suze Luker, Susan Sayari, Yvonne Schue, Linda Veale, Karen Walker, Linda Williams and their families.

Arrangements are under the care of Sanders Funeral Home of Lubbock. Contributions can be made in her honor to Hospice of Lubbock.
