Kip A. Smith, 56 of Kissimmee, Fla., passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2014.
Kip, a native of Houma, was born Jan. 10, 1958 to Don R. Smith Sr. and Joyce Tucker Smith.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Kathleen Herbert Smith; son, Keith and wife, Jessica Figueroa Smith, of California; mother, Joyce Tucker Smith; sisters, Joy Amy Smith and Eva Marie Smith; and brother, Kim M. Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don R. Smith Sr.; brothers, Major Noel L. Smith II, Don R. Smith Jr., and Flex T. Smith; and grandparents, Noel L. Smith I, and Eva Black Smith, of Lansing, Mich., and Wyatt D. Tucker and Mable McGilvery Tucker, of Ovett, Miss.
Kip was a noble and successful owner of Carsmiths Automotive Service in Kissimmee, Fla., for 13 years. He was also in partnership with the Carsmiths and Sons of Houma for many years until the passing of his father, Don R. Smith Sr. He loved his family very much. Everyone who knew him will miss his uncanny ability to make everyone smile.
