Helen was born in Red Ash, VA and was the daughter of the late William and Gracie Stilwell Cordle. She loved to work in her garden, loved to can the vegetables that she grew; and she loved to sew. Helen was a lifelong resident of the area and was a homemaker. She attended Church of the Lord Jesus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Boyd; second husband, Henry Stilwell; third husband, William “Bill” Shelton; sisters, Marcella Cantrell, Thelma Cantrell, and Ruby Vance; brothers, Curtis Cordle and Jay Cordle.
She is survived by:
Her Sister, Emily Lowe of Honaker, VA
Several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends also survive.

Funeral services for Helen Madeline Cordle Shelton will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, with the Rev. James Dye officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive from 6-9 pm on Monday evening at the funeral home. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia is in charge of arrangements.
