Mr. Schafer was a life-long farmer. He also was an electronic Technician for the Federal Aviation Administration for 32 years. He also worked for Tech Resources for 10 years and Lockheed Martin for 5 and 1/2 years.
Charles was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was a member of the Adams County Farm Bureau and was a 4-H leader for many years. Charles served on the Payson School Board. He was the Supervisor for Burton Township for many years. Charles loved his family and also leaves behind a beloved dog, "Buddy".

Charles was preceded in death by: his parents, a son: Charles R. "Chuck" Schafer, two grandchildren: Christopher Schafer and Will Oesterreich and a sister Marlene Ray.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 9:45 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery with military rites conducted at the cemetery by the Air Force Honor Guard and the American Legion Post #37 Burial Detail. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
