Catherine Kennedy, 75, of Sinking Spring, and formerly of Avoca, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Reading. She was born in Avoca, July 22, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Joseph "Baz" and Mary (Saunders) Kennedy.

She was a member of Queen of the Apostles Church, Avoca. She was a 1960 graduate of Avoca High School and attended Misericordia University.

Catherine is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Higley of Virginia; son, Brendan and his wife, Dr. Joan (Curcio) Williams, of Middle Village, N.Y.; grandchildren, Vivian and Brendan Williams, Melia, Gillian, Zoe and Harly Higley; siblings, Claire Hill and her husband, Walt, of Laguna Beach, Calif.; William Kennedy of Honesdale, Pa.; and Ann Kennedy of Avoca.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at 9 a.m. from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Queen of the Apostles Church, Avoca, with Father Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call Sunday, Dec. 3, from 2 to 5 p.m. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Avoca.
