Earl Burton "Burt" Wells, 79, passed away on November 18, 2017. The son of Boliver Burton and Vera Mae (Buckner) Wells, Burt was born on October 4, 1938 in Hart County, Kentucky. Burt attended high school in Louisville, Kentucky and later received his bachelor's degree in Business. Burt heard his country's call and served in the United States Army and in the United States Air Force where he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant and received an honorable discharge for services rendered to his country when called upon to do so. Burt went on to work at Tinker Air Force Base where he retired in 2007. Barbara said Burt could be described as a "ruff and gruff" Master Sergeant but the reality was he was a kind loving man with a very caring heart and would give anyone the shirt of his back. Burt enjoyed working in the yard and traveling. He enjoyed traveling to California and to Kentucky to visit family. He enjoyed old cars and watching war movies, the History Channel and MASH. Burt's first love was being with his wife, Barbara and spending time with his children and especially with the grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Jennifer Adams and husband James; step-children, Vicki Wilson, Allan Wilson, Sheri Turner, and Kenneth Wilson; grandchildren, Jonathan Adams, Andrew Love, Jennifer Livingston, Kimberly Moore, Andrew Wilson, Joshua Wilson, Sadie Schmult, and Michael Wilson; 7 great grandchildren, Bailey Turpen, Brysen Turpen, Addison Livingston, Beckett Livingston, Lucas Schumult, Wyatt Schmult, and Jacob Wilson; 2 brothers, Hubert Wells and Glenn Wells; and 2 sisters, Dorothy Goodwin and Wanda Adams. He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kristy Love. Funeral services for Burt will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Lynlyee Mae Chapel and Reception Center, Moore, OK. Inurnment to follow on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
