Tootsie Young departed this life on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at the age of 95 years, 1 month, and 20 days. She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on October 8, 1922, the daughter of the late Leonard and Maime Welch Crotts. On May 10, 1934, she was united in marriage to L.V. Young, who preceded her in death on August 23, 1986.

Tootsie had lived in the Big Ivy community and the Burnt Church community. She loved going to church at Old Town Full Gospel Church and loved singing gospel music. She had worked for Brown Shoe Company, C & M Cleaners, Savannah Cleaners, and Sinclair's Cafe. But most of all she was a homemaker. She could raise the prettiest flowers in red clay dirt in her yard. Tootsie had made many quits in her lifetime and could quilt with the smallest stitches. She laughed often with visitors and family members, always lived a Christian life. Tootsie traveled to different places and had many stories of what all she saw, in the USA, plus Mexico and Canada.

She is survived by her children, Wallace Young of Eads, Tennessee, Marilyn Hill, Rabon Young, Billy Young, Carolyn Holcombe, Doug Young, Neva Ireland, Bruce Young, all of Savannah, Tennessee, and Charlotte Nance of Clifton, Tennessee; twenty grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Baskins of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Alton Young and Danny Young; daughter, Shirley Ables; granddaughter, Trasondra Young; and brothers, Warren G. Crotts, L.C. Crotts, and Billy Crotts
