Laura Russell, age 90 of Oliver Springs, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at her home.
Laura was born on January 13, 1927 in Oak Ridge, TN. Laura was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by parents, Sam Nelson and Clara Gray Nelson; husband of 67 years, Hubert M. Mutt Russell; son, Doyle Russell; granddaughter, Amy Case; sisters, Marie Nelson Reeder, Cloda Rose, and Edna Cox; brothers, Everett Nelson, Harrison Nelson, and Jim Nelson.
Survivors include her children, Allen Russell and wife Geneva of Crossville and Karen Davis of Oak Ridge; brothers, Floyd Nelson and wife June of Oliver Springs, and Charles Nelson and wife Brenda of Dyllis; grandchildren, Melinda Holt and husband Phillip of Kingston, Lori Russell of Oliver Springs, Keri Russell and Samuel Russell both of Harriman, and Lynn Russell of Lancing. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Monday, December 5, 2017 at Premier Sharp Funeral Home with a funeral service following at 8 PM with Pastor Matt Reed officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Anderson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Keith Price officiating.
