Mrs. Harriet Elizabeth Baker died suddenly at her home in Linkville Sunday evening from a stroke of apoplexy. She was stricken early Sunday evening and passed away in just a few hours. Mrs. Baker was a daughter Johnathan and Mary Ridgway and was born February 6, 1849 in Tuscarawas county, Ohio. She was seventy-eight years, nine months and seven days old at the time of her death. In 1856 she moved with her parents to Indiana and in May, 1869 she was united in marriage to Enoch Baker. Eight children were born to them, seven of whom survive. They are Ira and Frank Baker at home, William Baker of Plymouth, Edward Baker of Walkerton, Harrison and Clarence Baker of Linkville and Mrs. Jennie Heyde of Bremen. Another daughter, Mary, preceded her mother in death. She is survived also by her husband, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one brother,Albert Ridgway, of Plymouth.
Funeral services were held at Fairmont church Tuesday afternoon at two oclock. Rev. C. B. Rowe, pastor of the Pentecostal church of Mishawaka officiated in the service. Burial was in the Fairmont cemetery.
