Forsyth, GA- Sarah Elizabeth Platt Dickson suddenly passed away while enjoying a visit with her son and his family in California. She was 84.

Betty was born in Charleston, SC to Robert Fulton Platt and Ella Rae Postell Platt who predeceased her. Her husband, James Arthur Dickson and her sister, Rae Platt Baker also predeceased Betty.

Surviving are her brother, Robert Platt and wife, Amber of Charleston, SC and Betty's children: Daughter, Pam Christopher and husband, Scott of Greenville, SC. Daughter, Pat Watson and husband, Darrell of Forsyth, GA and Son, Robert Dickson and husband, David of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. Her grandchildren are Stuart Christopher, Steven Christopher, Hannah Watson Lawrence and husband Alex, Caleb Watson, Jeremiah Dickson, Nevaeh Dickson, Bella Dickson and Gavin Dickson.

Betty earned her RN degree from The General Hospital School of Nursing, Spartanburg, SC and practiced until she had her children. She moved from base to base with her husband, a pilot in the Air Force, until he retired in Warner Robins, GA. After moving to Macon, GA, they were faithful members of Vineville Baptist Church. Betty was very involved with the Grief Ministry at Vineville.

The funeral will be held Monday December 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at Vineville Baptist Church with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Dr. Richard Kremer will officiate. Visitation will be held at Vineville Baptist Church one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Grief Ministry at Vineville Baptist Church 2591 Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA 31204.
