Jeanne L.(LaCourse) Edwards, 94, of Bristol, widow of George A. Edwards, died on Thursday (November 30, 2017) at the Bristol Hospital.
Jeanne was born March 1, 1923 in Bristol and was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Murray) LaCourse.
She resided in Bristol for all her life and was a graduate of Bristol Schools, St. Joseph College in 1945 and the University of Louisville with her Master's Degree in social work in 1947. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Bristol, St. Joseph College Alumni Association, and was a former member of the Bristol Garden Club. Jeanne also did volunteer work at the Bristol Hospital for several years. Jeanne spent her summers while growing up at Point O Woods, South Lyme, CT and then at Black Point, Niantic.
Jeanne is survived by a son, Henry "Hank" H. Edwards II of Bristol and a daughter, Laura Jeanne Edwards of Bristol; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother George LaCourse and a sister, Ellaine Savarese LaCourse.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday (December 4, 2017) at St. Joseph Church, Bristol.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
