RUSSELLVILLE — Ray Herndon Celsor, 83, of Russellville, died May 16, 2011, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

The Logan County native was born June 14, 1927. He was a farmer and a member of New Union Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and former Sunday school superintendent. He was also a member of the Senior Citizens. He was a son of the late Whitney Lamont and Viola Herndon Celsor. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Celsor.

Funeral is at 2 p.m. Thursday at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home, with burial in Stevenson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to New Union Baptist Church or the Agape Service Foundation.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Adams Celsor; a daughter, Amanda Beth Celsor Scott and her husband, Buddy, of Clarksville, Tenn.; two brothers, Edward Celsor of Florida and Alvin Celsor of Russellville; three sisters, Rebecca Hollandsworth, Marie Rogers and Bobbie Lee Markham, all of Russellville; a grandchild, Christy Currence Scarbrough and her husband, Daron, of Russellville; a great-grandchild, Nicholas Keith Scarbrough of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.
