Jerry L. Taylor, 71, of Jonesboro passed away Tuesday November 13 of a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Roy and Ruby Taylor of Brewton’s Mill and his father-in-law Alton Peel, Sr. of Huttig, Ark.

Mr. Taylor worked at the papermill in Hodge for more than 35 years. Survivors include his wife Sherri Peel Taylor of Jonesboro; one daughter Susan Cook Davison, husband Phillip; three sons: Jerry (Beau) Taylor, wife Rhonda of Jonesboro, Tracy Taylor, wife Doris of Longview, TX., and Sam Taylor, wife Lydia of Los Angeles, CA. He also leaves behind one brother Frank Taylor, wife Bobbie Sue of Brewton’s Mill, seven granddaughters and two great granddaughters. In addition, he leaves behind his mother-in-law Faye Peel Cox. Three aunts survive including Bernice Taylor White with husband Huey White and Glennie Merle Taylor wife of the late Huey Taylor, all of the Brewton’s Mill area, and Hazel Barnett, wife of the late Odis (Skeeter) Barnett of Saline.

Also surviving are a great number of nephews and nieces.

A memorial was held Thursday, November 15 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Walker Road with nephew Jarod Taylor speaking.

He will be buried in the Antioch Cemetery in Brewton’s Mill.
