Dale E. Lynes, age 70, of Moran, Kansas passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Moran Manor.

Dale was the third of four children born to Cleo and Royalyn (Dale) Lynes. Dale was born on May 17, 1947 at Garden City, Kansas while his family was travelling through on their way home to Jericho Springs, Missouri. He grew up in Eureka, Kansas graduating from Eureka High School. While in school, he worked as a pinsetter at the bowling alley and at the dry cleaners. Following high school Dale joined the United States Air Force 1966. Dale was a veteran of the Viet Nam, serving two tours in the Philippines. He was honorably discharged in 1976. While in the Air Force he married MaryAnn Vavrina on February 17, 1967; two daughters were born to this union, they later divorced. Dale worked as an electronic technician, specializing as a photocopier technician. He worked in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Reno, Nevada, and Denver, Colorado before moving to Iola. He worked for Copy Products Incorporated in Iola from 1983 until 1999. Dale married Corky Odell on January 27, 1984 at Bronson, Kansas. Following their marriage, they made their home in Moran. Corky had two children from a previous marriage; however, Dale never considered them as steps. In his words, "no one puts steps on his back." They were blessed with a daughter, Brandi, in 1986. Dale loved to fix things and he loved to help others. This led him to performing repairs for family and friends and even strangers. He was gifted with a terrific mind, giving him the ability to build or fix almost anything, finishing some of those tasks was another thing. He even once built a television from a kit; the family used that backless television for years. Dale loved to hunt deer and morel mushrooms. He especially enjoyed fishing with his friend, Doug Whitcomb. Dale had a soft spot for children; some of greatest joys were spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Brandi Lynes in 1999; granddaughter, Jessica White; sister, Betty Susko; and brother, Curtis Lynes.

He is survived by his wife, Corky of Moran; children, Christina Holsclaw and husband, William of Eliot, Maine, Jennifer Wichman and husband, George of Clayton, Indiana, Melisa Luttrell and husband, Bryan of Clover, South Carolina, Jerry Odell and wife, Jennifer of LaHarpe, Kansas; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; honorary son, Bryan Jack Stewart and his wife, Robin of Lamar, Missouri; sister, Mary Thornton and husband, Jerry of Eureka, Kansas; sister-in-law, Janet Lynes of ElDorado, Kansas; brother-in-law John Stewart and wife, Theresa of Moran; and numerous of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Midpoint Baptist Church, Moran. Burial with military honors will follow in the Bronson Cemetery, Bronson, Kansas. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday evening at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Moran.
