Daphne “Jean” Harrison-Taylor, age 84, of Franklinton, NC, a lifelong resident of Beckley, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Hillside Nursing and Rehab in Wake Forest, NC.
Born April 12, 1933 in Affinity, WV, she was the daughter of the late Steve Harrison Jr. (1910-1971) and Edra Annis Wills-Harrison (1915-1975). Jean was a graduate of Sophia High School and spent her life as a homemaker and a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Mason Eugene Taylor (1930-Deceased) whom she married on May 17, 1955 in Affinity, Raleigh County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1955, Page 281, Application Date: May 10, 1955), and her brother John Harrison (Deceased) from Huntington.
Survivors include her sons, Allen Taylor and his wife Sharon Taylor, and Kevin Taylor and his wife Pam Taylor, all who live in Beckley,; daughter, Lisa Taylor and her husband Darrell who reside in Franklinton, NC; a sister Janice Harrison; and brothers Larry Harrison and Gary Harrison; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A brief memorial service for family and close friends will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Blue Ridge in Beckley.
