Francis, 71, died at 8:20 p.m., at his residence.

He was born to Lester R. and Elizabeth (Lasley) Addington. On Sept. 3, 1950, he married Anna Warnes and she survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Kina (Les) Cunningham, Indiana; a sister, Jeanetta Smiley, Indiana; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He retired as a school bus driver and custodian for Lincoln Schools in Randolph County, Ind. He later worked at ABC Bus Co. and as a maintenance man at Ball State University, Muncie, Ind. He retired in 1993 from the Randolph Central School System in Randolph County. He was a court-appointed special advocate in Randolph County for 11 years and a volunteer with the White River Township Fire Department in Selma, Ind., the Randolph County Airport and Lakefield Airport, Montezuma. He was a member of Beaver Chapel Congregational Christian Church, Celina, and a former member of Harrisville Congregational Christian Church, Randolph County.

Private graveside services will be Friday at Saratoga Cemetery, Saratoga, Ind., the Rev. Thomas Christen officiating.
