Delma L. Stroder, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, on her 90th birthday.

She and the Rev. Carl Stroder were married February 14, 1947. They had been married 70 years when he passed away July 15, 2016.

In 1953, Carl was ordained with the Assemblies of God and he remained with the denomination until his death. Delma actively ministered with Carl in the churches in Centerville, Missouri; Van Wert, Ohio; Lutesville, Missouri; and Ellington, Missouri. In 1974, they moved to Creal Springs, Illinois where Carl was the pastor for the Assembly of God Church. They founded and pioneered the former Lakeside Assembly at Lake of Egypt, Illinois developing it from the ground up. Delma and Carl moved to Lakeview Acres in Jackson in 2002 to be closer to family and, in doing so, made many new friends. They always had a big garden and loved to give the produce to neighbors, friends, and family.

Loving survivors include three sons: Lonnie (Susan) Stroder of Jackson, Missouri, Glenn (Joyce) Stroder of Farmington, Missouri, and Larry (Miriam) Stroder of Wildwood, Missouri; grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 4 p.m. until service time on Sunday, December 3, 2017, in Chapel A, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
