Ronald K. “Ron” Cates, 72, of Georgetown, Indiana died Tuesday afternoon at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana.
He was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Garrett and Martha Louise (Stoner) Cates. Mr. Cates was a 1963 Graduate of Georgetown High School and was a member of Heartland Church of the Nazarene in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. He was employed at Jeff Boat for over 20 years as a draftsman and went on to work for Thomas Lighting (Gynlight) until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Beverly “Sue” (Schulz) Cates, his son Ronald K. Cates Jr. (Melissa) and granddaughter Briahna.
Visitation is from 2 PM- 8 PM Friday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes (1119 East Market Street, New Albany, IN) and from 9 – 10 AM Saturday at his church.
His funeral service will be held at 10 AM Saturday at Heartland Church of the Nazarene (6901 Old Vincennes Rd. Floyds Knobs, IN). Entombment will follow in SCI-Graceland Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy: his church or the American Cancer Society.
