Adam J. Sommer, 87, of Kansas City, Kan., died Monday night at the home of his son, Michael I. Sommer of Lawrence.
Mr. Sommer was born Aug. 2, 1880 in Russia and came to the United States when he was six years old.
In 1926 his family moved to Kansas City, Kan. Mr. Sommer was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Topeka.
Survivors include two sons, Michael and Paul; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Parish rosary will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Brennan Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 - 9 p.m. Tuesday.
