Mr. Foskey was born on November 4, 1928, in Johnson County, Georgia to the late Otis and Mattie Mae Smith Foskey. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a medic on the front lines of the Korean War in 1951-52. Following his military service, he began working at Robins Air Force Base in 1953 and remained there for 33 years until his retirement as a computer operator. He earned his barber’s license in 1956 and practiced for 61 years, working for 53 of those years at Lowe’s Barber Shop in Warner Robins. He retired from the barber shop in July, 2017. Mr. Foskey was a charter member of the Warner Robins Church of the Nazarene, faithfully serving and attending there until his illness no longer allowed him to do so. He loved his family, serving his barber customers, fishing, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his brother, Remus Foskey, and his sister, Avis Carroll.
Visitation with Mr. Foskey’s family will be Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the Warner Robins Church of the Nazarene. Following the service, Mr. Foskey will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made in memory of D.L. Foskey to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. Foskey’s arrangements.
