Miguel was born on Aug. 5, 1927 to Manuel and Guadalupe Salazar in Mexico. He was a charismatic and strong-willed individual who always had an answer for everything. He always did things his way, and no one was going to tell him otherwise. He loved his wife, his children and his family and had a funny way of showing it. He loved to share his experiences when working on the ranch with his grandchildren. He always told his family that he was going to live until he was 130 years old. He was very popular in the neighborhood. Friends knew him as "Papa" or "Chore". He was loved by his family and will not be forgotten. Dale Shine!
Miguel was preceded in death by his son, Abel Salazar; daughter, Maria Guadalupe Celedon; grandson, Juan Santellano; and sister, Cleotilde Garcia.
Survivors: His loving wife of 70 years, Petra Salazar; daughters, Narcisa Santellano and husband, Juan; Herminia Hernandez and husband, Paul; Oralia Castillo, and husband, Manuel; Ernestina Godina; Lidia Sanchez and husband, Indalecio; Margarita Salazar and Consuelo Salazar; sons, Oscar Salazar and wife, Manuela and Manuel Salazar and wife, Sylvia; 36 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and five brothers.
