Mother Rebecca "Becky" Perry, 86, of Hopkins gained her heavenly wings on the morning of Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 20, 1931 to Doc and Mary Ward Perry. She was also predeceased by five siblings: Willie, Louise, Carrie, Paul (her twin) and Jesse; two grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
Mother Perry was a lifetime and faithful member of New Light Beulah Baptist Church in Hopkins, SC where she served as a missionary. She retired from Walmart on Garners Ferry Road as a dedicated greeter.
Those left to cherish her beautiful and lasting memories are her six daughters: Burnethia Perry (Dana) Corley, Gloria (Charles) Donald, Cynthia (Theodore) Goodwin, Diana Perry, Regina (Michael) Sims and Mary Perry; three sons: Robert “Bobby” Perry, Eddie James (Charlette) Perry and Bruce Perry; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, December 1, 2017 at New Light Beulah Baptist Church, 1330 Congaree Road, Hopkins, SC with entombment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Leevy’s Funeral Home, Taylor Street Chapel. Leevy's Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
