Donnie Jean (Raines) Miller, 87, of Ferdinand, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. Donnie Jean was born June 27, 1930 at City Hospital, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Lester C. Raines and Vassie Lee Hestand Raines. Donnie worked as a phlebotomist at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis from 1964 until her retirement in 1992. Donnie Jean is survived by her daughters, Kathie Anne Alexander of Huntingburg, Terrie Lee Van Marter, Leslie Kay Miller and Mary Beth Dillinger; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Donnie Jean was preceded in death by a twin brother, Carl Donald Raines at the age of one. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Ralph Spears, Newman Spears and Timothy Raines; two sisters, Nina Baker and Audrey Snelson and her grandson, Tracy Lee Alexander. A graveside service and burial will be Friday at 3:00 PM at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Velpen. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com
