He was born October 23, 1974 at Joplin, Missouri to William and Twyla (Ford) Cook. He grew up and attended school in Oswego. He later lived in Wichita where he was employed as a cook in a café. He had recently completed HVAC training in Wichita before returning to southeast Kansas to live in Chetopa.
Darrell loved fishing, telling humorous stories and jokes.
Survivors include two daughters, Kendra Ashley of Cherokee County, Kansas and Bethany Moore of Galena, Kansas; several grandchildren; his parents, William and Twyla Cook of Parsons as well as one brother, Joe Cook and his wife, Gloria, of Stella, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest O’Dell.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
