Ona was a kind and caring person who generously gave of her time and talents to help the sick and elderly wherever she lived. While working in DC in the 40’s, she spent her days off from work visiting wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Hospital. She was an inspiration to many as she fought cancer twice. She has a hand-sewn block on the quilt at the Tunnell Cancer Center as a survivor of over 50 years. Ona said the key to her longevity was her strong faith and always having a song in her heart.
Ona was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers. She is survived by a son, Daniel Kalista of Lewes; daughter, Janet Fogg and her husband, Eric of Harbeson and granddaughter, Diana Fogg of Rehoboth Beach.
