Gladys Ann Marsh Brooks, 89, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Asbury Place at Kingsport following a period of declining health.

Born in Hawkins County, Tennessee, on January 8, 1928, a daughter of the late D.T. and Nannie Sensabaugh Marsh, she had resided in this area her entire life. She graduated from Church Hill High School. Gladys was a member of Ross Camp Ground United Methodist Church. She retired from First National Bank of Sullivan County in 1978 following thirty years of service.

She was a devoted wife to Robert Luther Brooks.

She loved being with family and friends, senior meetings at the church cabin, and enjoyed traveling. She will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Elmcroft, Asbury Place at Kingsport, and Amedysis Hospice.

Gladys was preceded in death by Robert Luther Brooks, her devoted husband and the love of her life; sisters, Beatrice Haun, Edith Harris, and Betty Jean Marsh; brothers, Robert, Dewey, John, Bill and Tom Marsh. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Karl Berndt officiating.
Burial will follow at Ross Camp Ground Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Sensabaugh and Don Brooks.
