A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Vance Penley and Margaret “Gwen” Stewart Penley Joslyn. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Maurice “Skeet” K. Plemmons, Jr. who passed on March 7, 2017.
Mrs. Plemmons enjoyed ballet and helping with her family’s floral business in her youth. Later in life she and her husband, Maurice operated Maurice Plemmons Photography, and together they enjoyed Photography, the Civil War Roundtable, and the Eastern Star. She also enjoyed the Girl Scouts as an assistant leader.
Mrs. Plemmons was a faithful and devoted follower of Christ. As a long time member of Oak Forest Presbyterian Church she enjoyed singing in the Choir.
Surviving are her daughter, Terri Ashalintubbi and husband Dennis; brothers: Jesse “Bud” Portland Goodman, III and wife Carol, and Vance Penley Davis and wife Elizabeth; sister-in-law, Sandra Bryson and husband Tommy; brother-in-law, Richard G. Plemmons and wife Betty Jane “BJ”; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorial services will be held at 5:30 PM Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Oak Forest Presbyterian Church with Pastor David Morgan officiating. A private entombment will precede the memorial service in the Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
