EDWIN DANIEL Edwin Loyal Daniel, age 76, of Roseburg, Ore., passed away peacefully Sunday, May 4, 2008, after a long battle with heart disease. He was born Aug. 29, 1931, in Canton, Ohio, son of James Edwin and Ruth Lenore (Lappin) Daniel. He was raised and educated in the Massillon area near Canton. Edwin entered the U.S. Army to serve our country during the Korean War. He later moved to Las Vegas, where he worked 21 years with the Howard Hughes Corporation in the hotel and casino industry. He met Jellinda Sabo, and on June 28, 1973, the two were united in marriage in Ely. The couple moved to Oregon 21 years ago, and settled in the Roseburg area. He is survived by his devoted wife, of 34 years, Jellinda, of Roseburg. He also leaves three children, Glenda A. Ravenelle of Wall Lake, Iowa, Cheryl Petero of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Jeffrey Loyal Daniel of Vacaville, Calif.; as well as 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Daniel has three sisters, Twila Brockway of North Canton, Veronica Daniel of Cupertino, Calif., and Claudia Daniel of Canton. He also has three brothers, David and Dale Daniel both of Massillon, and Bill of Phoenix. He was preceded in death by two sons, Erroll Christopher and Jarrett J. Daniel. Private family rites will be held at a later date in Ohio. Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor's Family Chapel in Winston, Ore.
