MIDLAND - Dee Ann Gibson Jones, 66 of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel.
Dee Ann was born on December 1, 1950 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Bill and Kay (Jackson) Gibson. She was courageous and independent. She loved her family and friends more than she loved herself. Her work ethic was something she took pride in and she enjoyed being a part of the legal field. Her favorite hobby was pleasing and taking care of the people she loved. She always found a way to help problem solve, whatever it took, she figured it out. She was quick witted, funny, and sarcastic but always genuine and loving. Her two kids meant the world to her and her grandkids meant even more than that. She had a strong love for her country and enjoyed discussing her hopes and concerns for America. Her favorite sport was whatever sport her grandkids were playing at the time. She lost her parents and siblings at a young age and never took for granted how much her nieces and nephews looked up to her in their absence. Dee Ann was easy going, honest and fun and will be missed dearly by all.
She is survived by her son and daughter, Daryn Forrest, his wife Sharron Forrest of Hobbs, NM, Kathy Powell, her husband, Michael Powell of Fort Worth, TX; five grandchildren Taylor Strickland, Kaydee Strickland, Grant Forrest, Roe Forrest and Drew Forrest; two great grandchildren, Sophia Tarango and Ryan Strickland.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Kay Gibson; siblings, Arnold Gibson and Linda Boyles as well as in laws and numerous relatives.
