BECKVILLE, TX — Philip was born on Nov. 12, 1933, to Philip and Minnie Faye Gray in Carthage, TX. He served as a Motor Pool Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1953-1956.
Philip and Gloria Meador were married on March 23, 1955, in Regensburg, Germany. He received a B.S.M.E. degree from the University of Texas in 1959. They moved to Dallas were Philip was an engineer at Texas Instruments for 31 years.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; his sons, Brian and his wife Maureen, David and his wife Karol, and Gordon and his wife Bev; his sisters, Beverly Gray-Alexander, Patricia Gray Walden, Janet Gray Murley, and Kathy Gray Edens; his brother, Dale Gray; 9 grandchildren, Rebecca, Trevor, Philip, Thomas, Allison, Quincy, Amber, Michael, and Victoria; and great-grandchildren, Grayson Coker and James Gray.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at Youngblood Cemetery, Beckville, TX under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home, Carthage.
The family asks that memorials can be made to the Gray Family Scholarship Fund at Beckville High School, #1 Bearcat Dr., Beckville, TX 75631 or to Youngblood Cemetery, P.O. Box 163, Beckville, TX 75631.
