Stephanie Ann White Baker, 73, of Bloomington, passed away Saturday (Nov. 25, 2017) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington, with Pastor Vaughn Hoffman officiating. Following the service, burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Community Cancer Center, Normal, or Wesley United Methodist Church youth program. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.

Stephanie was born on July 19, 1944, in Bloomington. She was the daughter of George and Dorothy Bardwell White.

She is survived by her children, Stacy (Randy) Ash and Brian (Molly) Baker, both of Bloomington; her grandchildren, Ryan, Jeffrey, Alexandra, Stephanie, Sarah, Mary and Brian; and her brothers, Bard (Joan) White, Florida, and Stephen (Carol) White, Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Stephanie was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington, and Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was a 1962 graduate of University High School and attended Stephens College, Columbia, Mo., and Illinois Wesleyan University. She worked at State Farm Insurance Co. and retired in 2002. Stephanie enjoyed music and was an accomplished pianist. She taught piano since the age of 14. She loved horseback riding, traveling to the mountains of Colorado, gardening, playing bridge and teaching Sunday school. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Stephanie was generous of heart, sharing joy wherever she could. Her love of God was clear in her daily walk as she constantly encouraged those around her. She was a beacon of light and hope for many. She was a strong and wise woman, a wonderful mother and grandmother. Our lives are much richer and blessed immensely for having known her.
