He was preceded in death by his wife, Setsuko Asakawa; daughter, Deborah Asakawa Lee; and sister, Mari Miyasaki.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Asakawa of San Jose; sons, Byron Asakawa and his wife Pat of San Diego, and Wesley Asakawa of San Francisco; sisters, Ida Shimizu of Fowler, Fumi Mochizuki of Los Angeles, and Misao Hatakeda and her husband Ben of Parlier; and his grandson, Michael Asakawa.
Visitation will be held at Wallin's Fowler Funeral Home on Thursday, March 22, 2007, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Buddhist Church of Fowler on Friday, March 23, 2007, at 1:00 p.m., followed by interment at Fowler District Cemetery.
