Lisa “Lu” Cannon, 33, of Athens, passed away at 3:07 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Lisa was born August 18, 1984 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Joe and Linda Bain Lukaszewski. She married Ryan Cannon on August 17, 2014 at Arlington’s in Springfield.

Lisa graduated from Glenwood High School, class of 2003. She attended Illinois State University, Columbia College, and graduated with a B.A. at Robert Morris College. She worked as a graphic designer for her entire career. Lisa was a member of Westside Christian Church, and involved in lots of informal groups that helped many people. She enjoyed blogging, and did it with the hope that her story could help others. Her legacy will always live on through her Dancing Through Chemo organization. Lisa was an incredibly selfless woman when it came to helping others. She was loving, caring, brave, and courageous. Dancing was Lisa’s passion. She also loved photography, live bands, and being with her friends. Her greatest joy was spending quality time with her daughter, Torie.

Celebration of Life: Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, Springfield, IL.

Memorial Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Westside Christian Church, Springfield, IL.
