ALBERT GILLAND DIES AT MADISON; RITES THURSDAY
Special To The Hawk-Eye Garette.
. Ft. Madison, Ia., Feb. 13—Albert Gilland, 2811 Avenue 0, janitor at Jefferson school 12 years until his retirement in 1938, died at Sacred Heart hospital at 7:05 p. m. Monday.
. He was born in Indiana Feb. 28, 1866, the son of Jasper and Jenny Gilland. The family moved to Oquawka, Ill., leaving there in 1910 for Ft. Madison.
. He married Adda Jackson in 1888, five children being born to the couple—Lyle of Burlington, John of La Junta, Col., Clarence of Denair, Cal., Mrs. Alice Sidner of Glenwood Springs, Col., and Ethel, the latter preceding her parents in death.
. In 1910 he married Ida Stark, four children being born to them—Floyd of Ft. Madison, Mrs. Wayne Decker of Oquawka. George of Detroit, Mich., and Edith of Ft. Madison.
. Other survivors include 23 grand-children; five great-grandchildren; four sisters. Mrs. Fannie McKay and Mrs. Ella Huss of Oquawka, Mrs. Dolly Watson of Keithsburg. Ill., and Mrs. Sadie Morris of Springfield, Ill., and a brother, William, of Monmouth, Ill.
. Funeral services will be held at Clements chapel Thursday at 2 p. m., with interment in Oakland cemetery. The Rev. E. L. Frost will officiate.
