He was an Executive at the Toledo Lion Store, having been a general buyer of yard goods for 45 years and an advisor to Mercantile Stores, Inc. Prior to retiring in 1950, for several years in the 1940's, the Mercantile Store chain held a "Bill O'Boyle Sale Day" on December 8th. Mr. O'Boyle was a member of Gesu Church, its Holy Name Society and was an honorary life member of the Msgr. O'Connell Council of the Knights of Columbus.
