Bennie was born on March 30, 1933 in Glenbeulah, WI, a son of the late William and Alma (Behr) Fritz.
He attended St. John’s Lutheran School in Plymouth.
On April 10, 1954, Bennie married Joyce Kohl at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plymouth. The couple resided in Plymouth since their marriage.
He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 in Europe where he served with the 7th Army Combat Engineers as a demolition expert.
Bennie was a supervisor at Specialty Packaging Group in Plymouth for over 20 years retiring in 1995.
He was a former member of Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department for fifteen years and was the first to be elected president of the Fire Department, serving in that capacity from 1966 to 1968.
Bennie enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and golfing.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Joyce of Plymouth; one son, Kenneth (Mary) of Kiel; three grandchildren, Christy Fritz of Plymouth, Stacy (Justin) Steinhardt of Sheboygan and Kimberly (Jason) Panzer of Ada; two great grandchildren, Meah Fritz and Kaden Steinhardt; one brother, Lloyd “Rusty” Fritz of Plymouth; one sister, Gloria (Mike) Ellis of Grayslake, Illinois and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Fritz of Plymouth and Mary (Leonard) Koenigs of Fond du Lac.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one great grandchild, Mason Steinhardt; one brother, William Fritz; two sisters-in-law, Stella Fritz and Helen Marth and his Mother and Father-in-law, Rose and Clarence Kohl.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017 at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Nathan Meador, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plymouth will officiate. Burial will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
