Anne D. Valentyne passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital on Saturday, June 17, 2017.

With great love and joy, she had devoted her entire life to Jesus Christ. She belonged to the Racine Dominicans for many years, serving as an educator for Catholic Schools in Wisconsin and Dominican College in Racine, WI. She was also involved with Charismatic Renewal Services in South Bend, Indiana.

She came to Ann Arbor to become a part of the Word of God Covenant Community. She served at Huron Valley Catholic Schools and volunteered with the beginnings of HOPE Clinic.

Anne was long time member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She had made a public vow of Consecrated Virginity in the Catholic Church and was a member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites.

Anne is survived by her brother, Don (Audrey) Valentyne, sister-in-law, Althea Valentyne, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Anna (Smits) Valentyn; brothers, Peter (Shelly), Harry (Sis) and Bob Valentyne/Valentyn; sisters, Harriet (Orie Milton, Nick Thurner), Elaine (Fabian) Hietpas, and Marie (Herman) DeLeeuw.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 Ava Maria Dr, Ann Arbor, on Friday, June 23, 2017, at 10:30 AM.

Visitation will be at Janowiak Funeral Home from 6-8 PM on Thursday, June 22, 2017, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM and before Mass at 9:30 AM

Burial will follow at Arborcrest Memorial Park in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Memorial contributions can be made to Emmanuel House where Anne was loved and cared for by volunteers for the last five years. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the Church.
