Caleb and Malinda had three children: Abigail (Abbie), born 1901; Joseph Calvin, born 1904, and Joyce, born 1907, who made the moves to Idaho and then to Texas with him. They eventually had eight children; two of them were born in Upshur Co., TX. Caleb with his older brother, Joshua Stephen, kept a small general merchandise store near the station and tracks of the Marshall & East Texas Railroad. He also farmed and did carpentry work. About 1915 he sold his interest to his brother Joshua Stephen and moved west, first to Lehi, Utah, and later to Arizona where his father and mother and other members of his family were living.
