Funeral services for Evelyn Ruth Cornell, 78, were held Fri., Feb. 23 at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah with Rev. Carl Clay officiating. She died Wed., Feb. 21, after a 10 year battle with cancer in Okemah.
Born Nov. 27,1928 in Sapulpa to Audrey "A.D." and Lillian Beatrice (Watson) Lee, she had been a resident of Okfuskee County most all her life. She graduated from Pharoah High School and was later active with the Pharoah Alumni Committee.
She married the love of her life, Roy James Cornell on June 18, 1948 in Pharoah. She was a loving Wife, mother, grandmother and; great-grandmother. Her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren were the light of her life.
Preceeding her in death were her husband, Roy; her parents, A.D. and Lillian Lee and two infant sons;
Survivors include three daughters, Roberta Brinson and husband Clyde of Ringwood, Gayla Woodin and husband, Dennis of Broken Arrow, and Karren Warren and husband, Gary of Henryetta; five grandchildren and 12 great-grand-
children.
Serving as pallbearers were Max Cline, Whitey Thomason, Jim Connell, Bob Witham, Bill Witham, Jim Pharoah, Robert Williams and Leon Banta.
Interment followed at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
