Tracy Forest Wooten Jr was born on April 29, 1926 in Clarksville, Tennessee, the son of Tracy Forest Wooten Sr (1904-1978) and Mattie B (Dodd) Wooten (1903-1987). [It is noted that Tracy Forest Wooten Sr's father is listed by some researchers as Forest Wooten AND his son as Tracy Forest Wooten Jr - not, however, in known public records.]

Tracy Jr served in the US Army, 1945-47 and was stationed in Germany, and he retired from Civil Service at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he specialized in electronics with focus on aviation simulators. He was a dedicated employee and received numerous Achievement Awards during his tenure at Fort Campbell.

He was married on August 14, 1948 in Wayne County, Michigan to Irene Ross (McLeod) Wooten (1928-2013), who was born on September 3, 1928 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and died on January 17, 2013 in Clarksville, Tennessee. She was the daughter of David McLeod (1891-1974) and Alice Marie (Carder) McLeod (1903-1974).

He was a longtime member of Saint Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Clarksville, loved his Tennessee Volunteers and Tennessee Titans football and was always making people laugh with his humor and quick wit.

Still living in Clarksville, Tracy Jr was 91 years old when he passed away at home on November 22, 2017 surrounded by family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; daughter Linda JoAnn Wooten (Dec 1948-Dec 1948); brothers Hershel Gold Wooten (1939-1943) and Minor Vernon "Buddy" Wooten (1928-2014); sisters Barbara Jean (Wooten) Jackson (1931-2012) and Lula Leona (Wooten) Mitchell (1933-2007); brothers-in-law Tommy Jenkins and Robert Clark and sister-in-law Diane (McLeod) Wooten. Survivors included a married daughter; married son; three sisters; a brother; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two 2nd-great-granddaughters.

Celebration of Life Services were held at the chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and burial was in Riverview Cemetery.
